Some old guestbook posts…

I just dug these out of the guestbook of the old site, perhaps it’s worth preserving them for posterity!

Well, I’m not able to update the site proper myself, but I thought all our hundreds of adoring fans ought to know that we are performing in the Beggar’s Fair in Romsey next weekend!!

We’re at the Tudor Rose on Friday 7th July at 8 o’clock in the evening, and at the Three Tuns on Saturday 8th July at 1 o’clock in the afternoon.

Entry is free – not just to our gigs, but the whole festival – and we’ll be doing some NEW stuff!! Please come along if you can!

Guten Tag kiddies! The lovely Tobs directed me to this super-duper site, hooray, it’s purple!

I was directed to make an amusing post, not too sure if I can manage that but I’ll try. Here goes:

I’m getting a treadmill today…if the thought of me running doesn’t amuse you well then I don’t know what will!

Spiffing site, keep it up. *waves*

Saw you at the Roke fireworks night – thought you were brilliant – my ‘free’ cd is nearly worn out I’ve played it so much – the only problem no is trying to find Batman pajamas for my 6ft 3″ fella. Thanks for makeing it a top night, Zoe.

Very Impressive , I do think you need a photos section though …

Live Noise sang almost a year ago at my Wedding ( they *were* the ceremony music ) They were superb, and everyone commented on how brilliant they were. I have to say it made my day so special , knowing that they had arranged and were singing the songs that Nick and I choose.

a “when” section would be most useful, for everyone, including yourselves!!! ;)
be good boys and get your set sorted for sunday!

Geega Wed 28 Sep 2005 1.12pm

Thanks for your kind words Jess. We don’t know exactly when we’ll be performing next, apart from the showcase gig at the weekend. If you know anyone/anywhere that might like to book us, please let us or them know!!
We’re always up for more gigs!

Hi,
Saw you at the Talking Heads on monday night and thought you were brilliant! Would love to see you guys sing again sometime, won’t be around on sunday for the candleclub showcase so was wondering where/when you’d be singing next?

Thanks,
Jess

Just if anyone spots this in time, we are planning on test-running a couple of new songs at the open mic night in The Talking Heads (in Portswood) on Monday evening (26/09/05)See you there!

Rupert Thu 22 Sep 2005 4.15pm

Why isn’t Rupert in the picture of Live Noise?!!!
And what’s Jon’s shoe size, it doesn’t say!

You’ve done a great job of this website, but there’s still a long way to go ;)

Also, might I be right in thinking rupert is a fan of ‘They Might Be Giants’? If so, I think we’re soul mates.

Jenny Sat 6 Aug 2005 9.44pm

I’m not sure, but personally I think Rupert is both devastatingly handsome and possibly the love of my life.
Where can i meet him in person?

Jenny Sat 6 Aug 2005 9.42pm

Dear Lord, do you think that’s wise?

We want to attract people to our gigs, not drive them away!!

:P

Toby Fri 5 Aug 2005 10.36am

I think I’m your first online groupie, cool!

We want a piccie of Rupert too, he’s not allowed to hide behind the camera.

Website is groovy so far, and that’s just the colours!

Grant Baynham

We had a gig at the Fo’c’sle Folk Club last December and a chap played a really fun song called “The Wine Song”. Alex took the time to track it down and it’s by a amazing guitarist called Grant Baynham. We’ve managed to get a CD of his stuff and have been listening and laughing…

A good article on Techdirt about the new music economy. Seems we need to forget about record sales and just get on with making music, really.

Give us your gigs!

July 5th, 2007 by rupert

We need (and also really want) gigs! Feed us all the gigs you can think of and we’ll be your friends, or at least give you a good professional set. We have a reasonably broad repertoire which we can pick goodies out of to suit many occasions, and we won’t cost you the moon.

blog the second!

Ok, so we’ve finally all managed to get ourselves into the same studio at the same time as each other for a day, along with my sister’s husband Dan, whose studio it is. Incidentally his cousin is the frontman of the splendid Thirteen Senses, who played the Joiners in Southampton not so long ago, and a great gig it was too. Props to Will and the lads! Where was I? Oh yeah, so we managed to get quite a few tracks down in the day we had, and Dan’s just sent me a scratch edit of Simon Diamond and Batman Pyjamas, originally by local legend Johnny Jet, and the signs are good for some decent quality recordings popping up on our OurSpace! Keep ‘em peeled :)

Right, I gots to crash now, cos it’s a school night and all.

Peace, love and harmony
Rupert

Let’s give this a go!

March 21st, 2007 by toby

Well, I’m completely new to this whole blogging malarkey, but I’m going to give it a go!

I’m Toby, the bass provider from Live Noise, and I don’t claim to speak for the whole band, and I don’t expect I’ll be the only one to post on here, now that I’ve got the ball rolling – at least I hope I’m not!

We, Live Noise, have been a bit quiet, publicly, of late, mainly due to bad organisation on our own part. A couple of nights ago we performed at the Candle Club open mic night, which is where we first played publicly together as Live Noise, and the audience there has always been very appreciative. If you’re a performer of any kind (usually solo, but there have been more than that), and you’re looking for a chance to try out your stuff on an audience, it’s a great place to go – it’s not just musicians either, as they have poets and stand-up comics too. It happens every Monday, and is usually compered by the brilliant Johnny Jet . If you want to know more, have a look at www.candleclub.co.uk. On the first Sunday of every month they have a showcase of the best of the previous month’s acts, and we’ve been invited to take part (3rd time for us, I think) on Sunday April 1st. Come along if you can!

In the slightly longer term, we’re trying to find a time when the band can come together to do a day’s recording session, in a garage kindly provided by a good friend of ours, as we’d like to have some better quality recordings than the ones you can currently hear on our page.

I’d just like to sign off by directing people to the page of http://www.myspace.com/mylostoriginLost Origin – Rupert’s brother-in-law is their lead guitarist, and he and I were lucky enough to be at their first ever gig a few weeks ago, which was a real cracker! They’ve got through to the Top 30 acts of the O2 undiscovered competition, so please vote for them by following the link from their page.

That’s all from me for now.

Let me know your comments – should I or the rest of the band continue the blog? Or should we shut up and leave it to someone who’s better at it?

Cheers,

Tobs
